The result is a clean, premium introductory cachaça with an emphasis on versatility for a wide range of cocktails, or one that tastes just as good neat on the rocks. “I’m motivated by the impossibility of answering the question, ‘what is Brazil?’ I will die trying to find the answer!” Junqueira says. “Similarly to our brand, the way we translate our product (The Classic) is being simple and elegant at the first sip, yet increasingly complex the further you dig.” Perhaps that’s just the answer he’s looking for, but he’ll leave the final decision up to you.
“Sustainability is part of our DNA so it doesn’t ‘impact’ us, it simply has been key to our identity since day one,” Junqueira says. “Our process is entirely conducted with not just sustainability, but regeneration in mind. From the origin of the water, to the waste-free process, to our selectively sourced packaging.” Their final step in the process before bottling is to filter the liquid through a coconut husk charcoal, giving a balanced taste and removing the dark congeners that result in hangovers.
