The problem is you need a certain body of people to join a union before it has any significant power, so on YouTube you'd need people on the relative scale of PewdiePie to join before it started having any real ability to negotiate with YouTube - and even then, buy this shirt all they can do is threaten to stop making videos for a short period of time, since there isn't a competing platform they could switch to.


I've always wondered why some kind of guild doesn't form for this purpose, but this sounds even better. Like, law firm or some such could set up a shell company where, for a small fee or percentage, owners transfer their right to them (in such a way that they can get them back unconditionally if they say the word such that it can't be abused),buy this shirt  and the company then reviews claims against creators with clear guidelines informed by IP lawyers for what constitutes an actionable violation, aggressively pursues false DMCA claims, etc.
