Someone I knew would carry a loose tent stake and several feet of paracord so they could stake down the paracord and use it as a lead back to the trail.Man that’s so sad. Crazy to think she was only 2 miles off the trail, and a 30 minute walk from lodging. I can’t imagine what her last days and weeks must’ve been like.From what I read (probably on Reddit at the time) that portion of the Appalatian trail is incredibly dense and dark.
